Arctic Spa Features & Benefits

Heatlock System

Each Arctic Spa comes with our Perimeter HeatLock Insulation system.

We apply high density urethane foam to the floor, cabinet walls and the spa rim underside, creating an insulating dead air space. This form of insulation has proven itself over and over in the harsh climates of Northern Canada.

Our sturdy cedar construction, combined with the perimeter insulation, provides an insulated protected air space for efficient performance of the plumbing and electrical equipment. Incidental heat from the motors is directed inward through the shell instead of outward, thereby decreasing heating costs by capturing and transferring this ambient heat to the spa water.

Tru-Guard Heater

Heaters fail more often than any other spa component. This is beacuse most spa heaters use a heating element submersed into the water, directly exposing it to the potential hazard of chemical imbalance or poor quality water (a problem usually not covered under warranty.) Arctic Spas Tru-Guard heater uses the latest heating technology to maximize the efficiency and reliability for your peace of mind. The Tru-Guard heater is sealed with the same protective Teflon-Titanium based coating used to seal commercial acid tanks. This patented coating prevents the build-up of minerals and shields against element corrosion. The Tru-Guard heater comes with a five-year No-fault replacement warranty...your guarantee that your spa will always be hot!

Base and Cabinet

Like every other success story, we started at the bottom and worked our way up. Our full pedestal base on all cabinets allows you to locate the spa anywhere, with minimal preparation costs. All you need is a level piece of ground and you are ready to fill your spa. Arctic Spas’ full pedestal base evenly distributes your spa’s weight and seals its underside from water, dirt and debris. Special sealed floors insure the base against moisture damage. This airtight base will further protect against rodent and insect infestation and downward heat loss.

Beauty, strength and accessibility are built into every Arctic Spas cabinet. We construct each cabinet using Western Canadian clear red cedar. Corners are rounded with tongue-and-groove 1" thick cedar dadoed into top and bottom 2 x 4 rails. The sturdiness of our cabinets is incomparable. No sagging, shifting or misalignment will occur. All come with eight inset access doors, two on each side, allowing easy installations and upgrades to any part of the spa. To finish the cabinet, a special, protective wood treatment is applied to prevent moisture and UV damage.

How long will your spa really last? The best guarantee that you will get many, many years of pleasure from your new spa is to insure that there is complete access to all sides of the spa under the spa cabinet.

Digital Controls

Arctic Spas offers one of the most technologically advanced and user-friendly topside control units. Engineered to perform in every season, the digital temperature display has solid state accuracy. Besides fingertip temperature control, the topside control unit oversees diagnostics, flow switch failure, over-heat protection and freeze protection. Heat and filtration cycles are all programmable.

The self-diagnostic feature of the controls allows for easy servicing of the spa. In many cases our service technicians can isolate and solve problems right over the telephone.

Self-Supporting Composite Hull

For a lifetime of enjoyment, we offer a wide selection of high gloss, marbled and textured cast acrylic finishes, available in many colours with a number of  them including  anti-bacterial Microban™ protection. The surfaces are tough and easy to clean . Arctic Spas are the only self-supporting hulls in the industry - which is why they are guaranteed for life. Other companies rely on additional support beams and foam to reinforce their shells. Arctic Spas believe it is better to make the hull thick enough top support several tons of water and people without the need for added reinforcement.

Reflex Torsion Hose

Arctic Spas are the first in the hot tub industry to use Reflex Torsion Hose in every spa. This highly specialized pipe is designed to fit externally over rigid PVC glued into every fitting allowing greater gluing surface, higher water flow and eliminating fitting leaks due to hose movement. This pipe actually swells to absorb stress from fittings. Reflex Torsion hose is clear with a colour coded strand of PVC running through it. This makes for easy troubleshooting and allowing us to see the coloured glue at all glued fittings when inspecting each spa.

Filtration

Cleaning filters is one of those necessary evils of owning a spa that Arctic Spas® has always felt should be eliminated. So... not only have we found a way to rid you of this nuisance, we have developed a filter that does a far better job at keeping your water clear.

Step one is to pre-filter the water going into the spa, because tap water is not really pure water. The Micro Pure pre-filter attaches to your garden hose and the proprietary ultra low micron filter media screens metals, suspended solids and even bacteria from your water. Think of the many different types of drinking water filters that are sold and you'll get the basic idea. By starting with water that is already filtered clean you will find that you have much fewer problems maintaining crystal clear water and that you'll spend much less on maintenance products.

Step two is done for you! Your Arctic Spa is already equipped with a Micro Pure™ Everyday Filter. This filter is the equivalent to over 900 square feet of pleated paper or cellulose (normal) filter media. It will screen particles down to 1 micron, and is 94% efficient at removing "stuff" from your water in one pass. Compare this to the typical pleated filter systems that screen down to only 60 microns, are only 50% efficient and quickly clog and require frequent rinsing, degreasing, replacement, and in many cases, multiple pricey filters. Throw away the chemical clarifiers, de-scummers, cartridge cleaners and de-foamers .... the Micro Pure™ filtration system does not need them!

Best of all, when 4 months is up, simply replace it with another inexpensive cartidge! That's it! Less maintenance and fewer headaches makes sense and saves you money!

Massage Jets

Plan your daily massage treatment right in your own backyard. Every Arctic Spas comes plumbed with the most advanced therapeutic jet system available today. Arctic Spas uses high flow water jets because a great massage is all about massaging as much of your body as possible and getting down deep to the soft tissue and muscle layers. It starts with placing jets strategically in the areas they are needed most and ensuring that the range of water flow covers as much of your body as possible. Then we provide precise calibration valves to allow you to massage any part of your body independently or keep it on full for a whole body massage.

At Arctic Spas, we truly understand that your therapy needs are as individual as you. That is why we offer the widest selection of specialty jets available to provide exactly the type of massage that you desire. With a twist of the wrist you can put your favorite jets exactly where you want them. And like all Arctic Spas jets, the jets in our Exotic Jet Package are completely adjustable - you control the exact flow of each jet individually so they are never too piercing. The Exotic Jet Package - one more way Arctic Spas are engineered for you!

Castcore™ Cover

For extreme environments, our Polar Ice Cap line of spa covers, tapered from 5" to 4", are the thickest, strongest and most insulative covers in the industry.

Using the wrong spa cover can cost you thousands! Why? If it is not a Castcore™, it will probably be ruined by absorbing water over time. Like a soaked sweater, these wet covers have reduced heat retention ability and fail to insulate properly. In addition, they will get hard to handle and heavy to lift. This extra weight will make it much more likely to be damaged at the seams. In the manufacturing process of most covers, other companies cut their foam inserts to the shape of the spa and attempt to reseal them with plastic. This method has been tried and has failed for years!

Hydrotherapy

Natural hot springs have been popular destinations, not only for pleasure seekers, but also for health seekers for ages. Many permanent communities around the world have been founded around natural hot springs because of the popular belief in their health benefits. In fact, the Arctic Spas European Head Office is located at one of these historic sites; a place called Droitwich Spa in England. Today, the town boasts a respected orthopaedic hospital that is recognized for its exceptional hydrotherapy practitioners and treatments. The centrepiece of their treatment program is A LARGE POOL OF HOT WATER!

For hundreds of years, health professionals have been prescribing hot water bathing as a treatment for a wide variety of physical problems. Conditions such as back pain; muscle injury, arthritis, and fatigue are commonly treated by modern health professionals using hydrotherapy, massage, aromatherapy, and ergonomic seating. These modalities are incorporated into every Arctic Spa we build. Owning an Arctic Spa gives people the opportunity to treat these conditions in the comfort and privacy of their own home.

Aromatherapy

Each Arctic Spa incorporates an aromatherapy dispenser that introduces fragrance directly into the spa's air injection system.

The power of scent to positively change your state of mind is a widely accepted and utilized natural therapy, and a perfect enhancement to a therapeutic soak. Each Arctic Spa incorporates an aromatherapy dispenser that introduces fragrance directly into the spa's air injection system. You can choose from a variety of available fragrance beads or use any of your favourite essential oils.

The combination of aromatherapy and hydrotherapy is powerful and soothing for both body and spirit.
