Cleaning
Brushing the walls and floor, vacuuming the floor and removing debris from the water surface are all necessary parts of pool maintenance, but these tasks need not be arduous and if done weekly should only take a few minutes.
Cleaning around the pool's waterline is another task that can be achieved very quickly when done regularly. The waterline is the area where grease deposits can accumulate, which in turn makes debris stick to the walls. This debris provides a source of food for bacteria and algae to grow in. Regular cleaning with BioGuardĀ® Off the Wall will prevent these problems. Although out of sight the other thing that should be chemically cleaned at least once a season is your filter media. For further information see the section on filtration and use BioGuardĀ® Deep Cleanse. When cleaning the pool do not just look at the pool tank itself; consider the areas around the pool as well. If there is debris surrounding the pool it will be washed into the water by rain or walked in by bathers making their way in for a swim. Keep your pump and skimmer strainer baskets free of debris by regular checks and emptying and cleaning as required. Cleaning Tips Never use household cleaners to clean within the pool tank, as they are probably not compatible with your pool water chemistry.
Clean solar and winter debris covers before storing them away with BioGuardĀ® Stowaway.
Good circulation will ensure the proper distribution of water throughout the pool. Watch out for dead spots, areas of poor circulation - corners or behind pool steps for example, and take care of these when brushing or vacuuming.
